Sam Swansen founded his firm in 1994 to bring innovative,
state-of-the-art estate planning services to individuals and families, including
family businesses.
A graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Wisconsin
Law School, Sam was a partner for 20 years with Dechert, Price and Rhoads (now
Dechert), a major Philadelphia law firm, then one of the nation's largest trust
and estate practices. Sam holds an AV rating, the highest, from
Martindale-Hubbell. His professional affiliations include admittance to the Bar
of the United States and Pennsylvania Supreme Courts as well as the American Bar
Association and our state, regional and local Bar Associations.
Sam is a fellow of EPICOR, a regional collaborative of estate
planning attorneys, a member of WealthCounsel, a national network of estate
planning attorneys, and a contributing author to two estate planning handbooks.
Sam also serves as President Emeritus of Foulkeways at Gwynedd
(a continuing care retirement community), and as General Counsel to the
Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of Friends (Quakers). He is also a former Chairman
of the Board of Friends Life CareTM and President of the Global Bach Community.
